Home Projects to Do With the Kids:
Help your kids decorate artsy headboards for their beds:
If your kids have rather plain headboards behind their beds, you may want to assist your kids in decorating unique, one-of-a-kind headboards for their beds. For example, you want to get your kids to pick out fabric which they’d like to cover their headboards in such as fluffy fabric, velvet, or sequins which you can then hot glue gun onto their headboards for them. As it’s not the safest idea to allow your kids to operate a potentially dangerous hot glue gun. However, you can get your kids more involved, by getting them craft supplies which they can use to decorate their headboards such as stickers and sparkles.
Alternatively, if you don’t cover your headboard in new fabric you and your kids can paint their headboards together. For example, you may want to paint each kids’ name on their headboard. Or you may want to draw a stencil outline of an image such as one of your kid’s favorite cartoon characters that they can help paint. This is a great idea if you have younger kids who may not yet developed the artistic ability to paint cartoon characters well but would love a cartoon-themed headboard for their bed. Such as a spider man headboard or a Frozen-themed headboard.
Create a blackboard wall:
If your kids love expressing their creativity, you may also be interested in creating a fun blackboard wall for your children. For example, if your children have a playroom, you may want to get their assistance in painting an entire wall with blackboard or chalkboard paint. Which will then allow them to draw and write on their blackboard wall on an everyday basis. Better yet, when they get sick of their drawings, they’ll be able to dust off their blackboard wall and to start again with fresh drawings or messages. Your kids will even be able to play games such as tic tac toe on their new chalkboard wall.
Decorate the front of your home with pot plants:
Your kids will enjoy accompanying you to your local garden center, where you’ll be able to pick out terracotta pots which they’ll be able to paint which they can use to grow seedlings in. For example, you may want to grow sunflowers in the pots that you select. As not only will your kids enjoy planting their sunflower seeds but they’ll also enjoy watching the plants which they grew with their own hands, flourish. As they’ll feel a sense of accomplishment.
So if you love to get your kids involved in fun DIY projects that are kid-friendly, will teach them new skills and will let them unleash their creativity, it’s well worth completing some of the projects that are listed above.
