JD.com plans to have a campaign that will spend close to two billion renminbi in gifts and digital envelopes. The company will also provide this year’s participants with coupons for the different activities they choose. All the planned activities will start from the end of January to mid-February. The activities include inviting people to online draws, distributing virtual envelopes, and giving away coupons. JD.com plans to use its cloud service to ensure that the virtual festival runs as per the management’s expectations.
The company has been putting up measures to manage the heavy traffic rush expected to occur when the activities start. This is not the first time JD’s cloud computing has withstood such high pressure. It used the same technology to handle the complicated shopping expeditions held previously in the country. Additionally, this is the tenth year that JD.com will deliver its services in Spring Gala during the first week of January. The company commits to providing all customers’ orders on time.
